The Organizing Committee is composed of twelve members who elected Carmelo Ghilardi, a long-time FISI national councilor, as president. The other members are the Mayor of Schilpario Marco Pizio, the President of the Central Alps Committee Franco Zecchini and the Councilor in charge of cross-country skiing Cristina Bonacorsi, the President and Vice-Presidents of Fisi Bergamo Fausto Denti, Emiliano Milesi and Mauro de Nicola, the President of the Gromo Ski Club Paolo Morstabilini, the President of the Schilpario Ski Club Andrea Giudici and his Councilor Ilario Morandi, joined by technicians Renato Pasini and Corrado Vannini.

I am very pleased that the FIS, through the FISI, has decided to entrust Bergamo-Schilpario with the organization of the Junior and Under 23 World Championships that will be held in 2025 on the Abeti slope, duly modernized thanks also to the contributions of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Schilpario, which I thank. I am sure that this improved structure will become an important point of reference not only at a competitive level, but also for the many tourists who, thanks to the world event, will be able to get to know and appreciate our beloved Orobie. An event of this magnitude deserves the attention of the institutional and business world in order to provide concrete support to a purely non-profit activity aimed at creating stable and permanent benefits not only for the communities surrounding Schilpario, but for the entire province and in particular for the mountains, and which therefore go well beyond the days of the event. In short, one of the few occasions of strategic importance in which our high lands can show themselves off to the whole world, creating that useful flywheel for its lasting relaunch over time, a springboard to make our locations increasingly attractive at a high level, without forgetting the interest that it can arouse in young people and the very young towards this beautiful sporting activity.

When the President of Fisi confirmed to us that Fis had chosen Bergamo-Schilpario for the organization of the Junior and Under 23 World Championships, I understood that I had won the bet I had made with myself when, about 15 years ago, approaching the activity of the Federation, I became passionate about the world of cross-country skiing. An environment in which the enthusiasm and great desire to do of the ski clubs that are its backbone, finds concreteness in the work carried out in the territory, promoting healthy and outdoor sports activities for many children and which then sees its natural consequence in the many high-level young people churned out by the Provincial Committee. So I tried to make sure that the bar was always raised, bringing to Bergamo what it deserves also for the demonstrated organizational skills. A victory that is the result of the work of the ski clubs and made possible by the organization of the Sci Club Schilpario that will act in close collaboration and synergy with SC Gromo, SC 13 Clusone, SC Ardesio, SC Zanetti-Goggi, SC Roncobello, SC Valserina and UnderUp Ski Team, but which must be the starting point to best achieve this important objective that represents an important opportunity for the promotion of the activity and the territory.
