In the north-east of the province of Bergamo there is a valley that, enclosed by the Presolana and the Campelli chain in a picture-postcard territory, represents a true paradise for lovers of nature and outdoor activities: the Val di Scalve. Its nerve center is Schilpario, a mountain village that has just over 1000 inhabitants and enjoys a strong sporting tradition linked to cross-country skiing given the presence of the “Pista degli Abeti”.
The “Abeti” is a cutting-edge cross-country skiing center where, at 1152 meters above sea level, almost 12 kilometers of trails wind through the picturesque pine forest crossed by the Dezzo River. Thanks to the variety of its routes, it is approved for all types of competitions and over the course of its ten-year history it has hosted numerous local, national and international events, from the Italian Championships to the European Cup.

During the entire winter season the track is accessible and open to all, frequented by both competitive cross-country skiers for high-level training, as well as by enthusiasts from the area and tourists who want to enjoy the always excellent preparation of the track combined with the many and appreciated accessory services (equipment rental, cleaning and waxing of materials, ice rink, etc.).
The appointment with the Junior and Under23 World Championship “Bergamo-Schilpario 2025” is undoubtedly the most anticipated and will make the Orobic location the fifth in Italy to have hosted this event. Klaebo, Northug and Amundsen and also Karlsson, Johaug and Weng: these are just some of the cross-country skiers who have been protagonists at the Junior World Championships and have then embarked on a successful career at the highest levels, because it is precisely from this type of event and race that the champions of tomorrow are born and grow. So, let's see who's next: Bergamo-Schilpario 2025 is ready to crown a new generation of cross-country skiers.
